AROMATHERAPEUTIC
Scented naturally with essential oils · No synthetic fragrance · Patch test if you react to botanicals
Wake up calmer, brighter, more your-self: Dream Skin Night Cream is an antioxidant-rich night cream built to refine texture, support the look of firmness, and restore hydration to perimenopausal skin while you sleep.
Dream Skin Night Cream is built around astaxanthin — a well-studied antioxidant carotenoid and, in my treatment room experience, one of the most overlooked ingredients in perimenopause skincare. Paired with shea butter, squalane, and gentle botanical actives, it works overnight to refine texture, support the look of firmness, and bring back the calm, even, hydrated skin you remember.
No stripping. No drama. No morning flakes. Just skin that quietly looks more like itself again.
That rich, sunset-orange colour? It comes naturally from pure astaxanthin — no dyes, no gimmicks. What you see in the jar is the antioxidant going to work.
Key ingredients & what they do for you
-
Astaxanthin — a well-studied antioxidant carotenoid that helps defend skin against oxidative stress and supports its natural overnight repair cycle.
-
Retinyl palmitate — one of the gentlest members of the retinol family. It converts slowly on skin, which is exactly why it renews at a pace most perimenopausal skin can actually stay on.
-
Shea butter — delivers deep, lasting hydration without heaviness.
-
Squalane — reinforces your moisture barrier so skin feels calm, not stripped.
-
Lavender essential oil — gives the cream its soft, calming aroma. It is a botanical, not a synthetic fragrance — and like all botanicals, it can be a sensitiser for some skin. Patch test first if you react to plant oils.
-
Gentle botanical actives — help soften the look of fine lines and rough texture and support a brighter, more polished glow.
Why astaxanthin is in here.
Astaxanthin is one of the most-studied antioxidant carotenoids in skin research, with published work on hydration, elasticity, and protection against UV-induced oxidative damage — a key driver of hormonal aging. It is why this cream defends against oxidative stress while shea butter, squalane, and gentle botanicals do the comfort work overnight.

Who it's for
- Women 40+ noticing dullness, tightness, uneven tone, or the look of fine lines from hormonal shifts.
- Anyone whose skin became sensitive in their 40s and can no longer tolerate prescription retinol — and who is comfortable with a lavender-scented formula.
- Skin that feels dry-underneath-but-not-dry on the surface (classic perimenopause).
- Anyone who wants a supportive overnight step without the drama of harsh actives.
How to start: your first two weeks
After 32 years in the treatment room, here is the most common mistake I see: someone starts several new products at once, their skin gets overwhelmed, and they decide the products don't work for them. Perimenopausal skin responds beautifully to actives — introduced slowly.
Patch test first. A pea-sized amount on your inner forearm at night for two nights before it goes on your face. This is especially important if you know botanicals or essential oils have bothered your skin before.
Week 1 — every other evening. Week 2 — every evening, if week one felt comfortable. If you are also starting other new products, add them one at a time, four days apart, and save any exfoliant for last.
Wear sunscreen every morning. Broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher. Retinyl palmitate is gentle, but it still renews the skin — and unprotected sun the next day will undo your progress faster than any product can correct it.
Stop and email me at contact@purelybellabeauty.com if you notice stinging that doesn't settle within 15 minutes, redness that's still there a day after you stop, itching, bumps, or swelling. I'd always rather hear from you early.
Questions shoppers ask before buying
-
Will this irritate sensitive skin? Retinyl palmitate is one of the gentlest members of the retinol family — it converts slowly, so it renews at a pace most perimenopausal skin can stay on. One thing to know: this formula is scented with lavender essential oil. Essential oils are botanicals, and botanicals can be sensitisers for some people. If plant oils have bothered your skin before, patch test on your inner arm first, or choose Flawless, which is completely fragrance-free.
-
How long until I see results? Skin feels velvety-smooth by morning after the first use, with tone and comfort improving over consistent nightly use once you're fully built up.
-
How much should I use? One pea-sized amount covers your entire face and neck and lasts 2–3 months. It's concentrated, so more product just means pilling and waste, not more results.
-
Is this right for me if I can't use retinol anymore? Very likely. Retinyl palmitate plus astaxanthin is a realistic starting point if a stronger retinoid failed you — begin two nights a week and build from there.
How to use, once you're fully built up (evening, 90 seconds)
-
Step 1 — Cleanse & clear: Begin with a clean face. Remove every trace of the day before applying your night cream. Clean skin absorbs actives more effectively — don't skip this.
-
Step 2 — Mist & prep (optional but powerful): While your skin is still slightly damp from cleansing, spritz Serenity Cooling Mist across your face and neck. Damp skin drives moisture deeper, so your night cream seals it in rather than sitting on the surface.
-
Step 3 — Press in, don't rub: Warm a pea-sized amount of Dream Skin Night Cream between your palms. Press — don't rub — it into your skin in upward, lifting motions. Pressing respects your skin's structure.
-
Step 4 — Don't forget your neck: Your neck and décolleté are the first places to show hormonal aging. Smooth the remaining product down your neck with gentle upward strokes.
-
Step 5 — Give it a moment: Let the cream absorb for 60 seconds before reaching for your eye gel or pillow.
-
Step 6 — Rest & wake up better: Your skin works overnight. By morning you'll notice softer texture, a calmer look, and a suppleness that builds with every use.
Pro tip from Cathi: After 32 years in treatment rooms, the most common mistake I see? Applying too much. This cream is concentrated. A pea-sized amount covers your entire face and neck. More product doesn't mean more results — it means pilling and waste. Less is genuinely more here.
A note on the essential oils.
The scent in this formula comes from lavender essential oil, never synthetic fragrance. Essential oils are botanicals, and botanicals can be sensitisers for some people. If your skin reacts easily to plant oils, patch test on your inner arm for 24 hours before using it on your face. If you want a completely fragrance-free night step, Flawless and Tight & Bright have no essential oils at all.
